Save the Date to Celebrate – April 24th 2021
Please save the date to join us in celebrating Opportunity Junction’s 21st Birthday, A Coming of Age, at our virtual 2021 Imagine Gala. The Gala will be held virtually on April 24th 2021 from 5-6pm PST.
The funds raised from this annual event will allow Opportunity Junction to build stronger communities by helping motivated Contra Costa job seekers gain the skills and confidence to launch careers that lead to financial security.
CNA Training is coming to our Antioch office in April!
In 2019, we launched a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program as the first branch of our
Healthcare Career Pathways (HCP) initiative. The program, which runs in partnership with Mt.
Diablo Adult Education in Concord, has graduated 3 cohorts of successful CNA's! This April, our
Antioch office will become home to the expansion of our Healthcare Career Pathways initiative,
bringing more healthcare training opportunities to East Contra Costa. We are thrilled to add
CNA training to our home office where we have been offering Administrative Careers Training
since our launch in 2000.

Join us for Class 63 Graduation – on Zoom!
Our eighteen graduates will celebrate their accomplishment on Friday, January 29th at 2:00 pm via Zoom, where they will share their inspirational stories alongside Opportunity Junction staff.
January Featured Alum, Now Employee: Nicole Hall
Nicole Hall's journey came full circle last year when the 2018 Alumna was hired as Opportunity Junction's new Professional Skills Instructor.
When Nicole Hall graduated from the Administrative Careers Training program in 2018, she had no idea she would end up back at Opportunity Junction, only this time, as a full time employee!
New Grants
We are proud and grateful to announce the following new grants and
funding partnerships:
Keller Canyon Landfill Mitigation Fund: Opportunity Junction is proud to have been awarded a grant from the County's Keller Canyon Mitigation Fund to support Bay Point and Pittsburg residents participating in our Administrative Career Training. Supervisor Federal Glover leads the board that administers the funding to support a wide range of programs affecting quality of life for residents in the vicinity of the Keller Canyon Landfill, including public safety, youth development, and community beautification.
