In tribute to our recently retired former president and CEO, Opportunity Junction has unveiled a new fund that will directly support motivated job seekers in Contra Costa County.
The Alissa Friedman Legacy Fund honors the extraordinary contributions of Alissa Friedman, who led our organization for 22 years before retiring this spring. As a pivotal figure in establishing OJ as a widely recognized workforce development nonprofit, she has played an instrumental role in transforming the lives of countless individuals in the community. Since the year 2000, participants in our programs have collectively earned more than $112 million—a testament to the effectiveness of the organization's initiatives under Alissa's leadership.
President and CEO Brianna Robinson, who previously served OJ in various capacities over the last 16 years – including as VP of Programs – said the Legacy Fund will uphold Alissa’s values and vision for years to come.
“By contributing to the Alissa Friedman Legacy Fund, donors have the opportunity to directly support all of the programs and services provided by Opportunity Junction,” Brianna said. “Donors’ generosity will enable the organization to continue its transformative work, empowering individuals with the skills and resources they need to thrive in the workforce and build a brighter future.”
As we embark on this new chapter, Opportunity Junction invites you to be part of this meaningful movement. Your involvement in the Alissa Friedman Legacy Fund will ensure that her vision for a better, more inclusive society lives on and continues to inspire future generations.
