Medical Assistant (MA) Training
Become a certified medical assistant in just 16 weeks!
Contra Costa County residents, it's time to launch your healthcare career. Our new Medical Assistant training program, offered at no-cost to you, includes 12 weeks of in-class training followed by 4 weeks of externship to give you the hands-on experience to succeed.
We are no longer accepting applications for the upcoming January 11, 2027 class, but are accepting them for the next class that starts on May 3, 2027 . Apply here, then check back in October 7, 2026 for new information session dates.
Apply here, then attend an information session where we will explain more about the program and proctor a prerequisite CASAS reading assessment.
Classes fill up quickly, so apply early.

Classes Start on January 11, 2027
- Duration: 12 weeks in-class training
- Classes: Mon - Fri 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Small class sizes
- 4 weeks of externship (hours and location may vary)
- Job placement assistance
- Hot lunches Monday-Thursday, groceries on Friday
- Mental health resources and support
- Transportation and other assistance
- Connections to employers
- Alumni career advancement coaching
- Have your doctor fill out our Health Form
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Must qualify as low income .
- Must be a Contra Costa resident

Come to our office for an in-person session: Any Wednesday from October 7, 2026 to November 18, 2026 at 9AM. (Excluding the holiday on November 11, 2026)

The total cost of tuition and fees for this course is $6,500. However, Opportunity Junction identifies funding sources to cover this cost so that none of these costs are passed on to those enrolled in this training program.
