Opportunity Junction offers free classes to help you personally and professionally. These classes are not designed to lead to employment.

Our classes are currently being offered online only, via Zoom.

  • Microsoft Excel 3: March 11 through March 28
    • Classes are held on Mondays,Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:30-9:00 PM.
    • Excel 3 is designed to deepen your knowledge by focusing on essential tools such as sorting, filtering, V-lookup, tables, charts, What-If analysis, and pivot tables. Join us on this journey; this course will give you the skills to navigate Excel with confidence.
    • Course materials include a tutorial lesson plan and practice problems to help you learn. 
    • Successful participants will receive a valuable certificate of completion. 
    • Prerequisites: 
    • To enroll in Excel 3, you must have a certificate in Excel 2 or demonstrate Excel 2 skill level. After you complete the registration for the class (the instructor will contact you).
    • Requirements:
    • A computer with Excel (Office) 2016 or later version installed (Google Sheets is NOT sufficient).
    • A real computer (tablets are NOT sufficient) with mouse, camera, microphone, high-speed internet connection and Zoom. 
  • Artificial Intelligence Basics: March 18 through April 3
    • Classes held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00 -7:30 pm.    
    • Artificial Intelligence Basics is a meticulously designed course with the objective of enhancing your comprehension and utilization of AI. Upon completion, you will possess a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental principles of AI, learn about CHATGPT, learn how to use CHATGPT as well as the various types of AI.                                   
    • Join us in this captivating educational odyssey and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence!
    • PrerequisitesYou, your computer, and the Internet, along with your desire for knowledge! 
  • Microsoft Word Basics: April 15 through May 1
    • Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:00-7:30 PM.
    • This is a course designed to both build a foundation of essential skills in Microsoft Word and gain a greater understanding of its interface and design elements.The course focuses on mastering the fundamental tasks performed in Word, including creating simple letters, inserting graphics, and navigating the ribbon. By the end of the course, participants will be equipped with the necessary skills to create professional-looking documents efficiently and confidently. 
    • Prerequisites: 
    • No previous experience is required. Open to All.
    • Must have a working version of Word 2016 or later version installed in your computer before your first class
  • ESL is ongoing with open enrollment. (Spanish below)
  • Aprenda Inglés Gratis. El Centro está temporalmente cerrado, pero las clases se ofrecen en línea, a través de Zoom.

Before the first class, participants will be required to have:
  • A high-speed internet provider. Comcast or equivalent.
  • A working web camera and microphone.
  • For Excel, a computer with Excel 2016 or later version installed (Google Sheets is NOT sufficient).
  • For PowerPoint Basics and Word Basics classes, a computer with MS Powerpoint and MS Word 2016 or later installed.

  • First, sign up here for the class you want.
    If you want to attend multiple classes, sign up separately for each class you want.
  • Then "sign" our CDBG form that will be emailed to you via DocuSign, (learn more about DocuSign here).
  • To keep your place, you must be on time for the first session of the class.

Free Typing Test

We are offering free typing tests online. If you are interested, sign up here, and select Typing Test as the class. Nadya will reach out to you to schedule the test and send you the required CDBG form, which can be signed electronically via DocuSign prior to taking the test, (learn more about DocuSign here).

Technology Center

Our Technology Center (temporarily closed due to COVID 19) offers evening access to computers and the Internet. When our office reopens, our normal Technology Center hours are: Monday through Thursday from 5 pm - 9 pm.
