Last year, nobody would've predicted that we would still be in the midst of the pandemic for Thanksgiving 2021. Yet here we are, still dealing with COVID-19 but with plenty to be grateful for. Even during these unprecedented times, the Opportunity Junction family is full of holiday spirit and doing all we can to share it with others.

2 volunteers The holidays can be a particularly stressful time. Everyone wants the holidays to feel special but not everyone has the resources to make that wish a reality. To help ease the seasonal pressure on the families we serve, OJ is continuing its tradition of providing Thanksgiving meals to fill up holiday tables.

This year, Opportunity Junction hosted a two-day giveaway event at our Antioch office. Over the course of Friday, November 19 and Monday, November 22 we gave away Thanksgiving meals to over 115 participants and alumni of our Administrative Careers Training and Healthcare Career Pathway programs. Each meal consisted of a turkey, chicken, or ham, as well as a $50 gift card for sides and other provisions.

2 volunteers We want to send a very special thank you to District Five Supervisor Federal Glover and the United Way for partnering with us for this year's giveaway. Supervisor Glover's office provided the hams and chickens, while the United Way supplied the turkeys. The event would not have been possible without their generous contributions to our effort.

Nobody deserves to go without a warm meal anytime during the year but especially during Thanksgiving. We're proud to be able to share our gratitude with and provide a Thanksgiving meal to local families in need.
