New Grants 320x380We are proud and grateful to announce the following new grants and funding partnerships:

Citi Foundation: Opportunity Junction was admitted to the Citi Foundation 2024 Community Progress Makers cohort. Nine Northern California nonprofits (among 50 nationwide) were selected to receive $1  million in unrestricted funding over three years as well as access to a learning community, technical assistance, and a network of changemakers across the country. 

Concord Cannabis Community Benefit Fund: The City of Concord chose to fund our Healthcare Career Pathway partnership’s professional development training at Mt. Diablo Adult Education as part of their first slate of investments from out of their cannabis community benefit funding. The City of Concord Cannabis Community Benefit Funds are dedicated to enhancing programs and services for Concord residents.

East Bay Community Foundation Anonymous Fund: The Anonymous Fund at the East Bay Community Foundation issued an unrestricted grant to support Opportunity Junction's programs. The East Bay Community Foundation partners with donors, social movements, and the community to eliminate structural barriers, advance racial equity, and transform political, social, and economic outcomes for all who call the East Bay home.

Justice, Justice Foundation: Justice, Justice Foundation: Contra Costa County's private philanthropic Justice, Justice Foundation renewed its support of Opportunity Junction's programming with an unrestricted three-year grant. Justice, Justice is involved with the STRONG Funders group supporting nonprofits in East Contra Costa County and is also a supporter of Tipping Point Community.

Marathon: Continued funding from Marathon will support Opportunity Junction’s Administrative Careers Training program, which enhances our participants’ career possibilities and establishes their credentials with employers. Marathon’s community investment strategy is centered around strengthening communities and helping make people's lives better.

Marsh Landing: Marsh Landing, a fully owned energy project of Clearway Energy, has generously awarded a grant to support the Pittsburg and Bay Point residents enrolled in our Administrative Careers Training (ACT) program. Clearway Energy is well-known for investing in community organizations that work toward combating racial inequities, promoting justice, and addressing related violence.

Pacific Service Credit Union: The Administrative Careers Training Program received a grant of support from Pacific Services Credit Union. The credit union's community contributions focus on benefiting those in underprivileged and disadvantaged circumstances, and PSCU also provides enthusiastic volunteer support to help our participants prepare for job interviews.

Arthur N. Rupe Foundation: The Healthcare Career Pathways (HCP) recently received a renewal grant from the Rupe Foundation, which exists to improve society and be a positive influence on American life. In the founder’s words, the foundation “aims to improve education at all levels, support authentic debate where all aspects of issues are revealed in a balanced exploration of the facts, and support research and scholarly studies that can achieve broad public dissemination.”

San Francisco Foundation: A long-time supporter of Opportunity Junction, the San Francisco Foundation awarded a new grant for core operating support. The foundation is committed to advancing racial equity and economic inclusion in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Share the Spirit: We have been awarded a generous Share the Spirit grant to provide support services for participants in our core employment programs. Share the Spirit is a partnership of the Bay Area News Group - East Bay Times and the Contra Costa Crisis Center. 

Strive for Change Foundation: The Strive for Change Foundation continued to provide unrestricted support for our programs helping motivated job seekers in Contra Costa County achieve economic self-sufficiency. The foundation seeks to help low-income workers overcome poverty in Alameda and Contra Costa counties by supporting job training programs.

Sutter Health: Sutter Health has renewed its grant support for Opportunity Junction's Administrative Career Training. Sutter Health invests in organizations, programs, and initiatives that address economic security, recognizing that financial health is associated with physical and mental health.

Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation: Umpqua Bank Charitable Foundation has issued a grant to support the Administrative Careers Training Program. Umpqua Bank takes great pride in its commitment to serving and supporting our communities, and we deeply appreciate its support of this work.

CoCo Farms: CoCo Farms provided its continued funding to Opportunity Junction to sustain the expansion of Certified Nursing Assistant training to the Antioch office. The support is part of its social equity program in Antioch.
