Come work for an organization that’s making a difference in your community! At Opportunity Junction, we believe that everyone who works hard deserves the opportunity to succeed. We help motivated Contra Costa job seekers gain the skills and confidence to launch careers leading to financial security.
We are hiring for three positions: a director of programs, a director of finance, and a case manager/essential skills instructor. Learn a little bit more about each opportunity to see if it’s the right fit for you or someone you know:
Director of Programs
The Director of Programs will oversee our three core programs in addition to the Technology Center, which offers free remote computer classes to the community. This position is a critical executive role that provides leadership and direction on all matters related to programming, including the analysis of needs and opportunities, allocation of available funding, implementation of service delivery, and evaluation of impact.
“Great project management is essential for this position as we are currently in the pilot and new launch phase for our Healthcare Career Pathways (HCP) CNA training program,” said Brianna Robinson, incoming president and CEO. “We require a candidate who possesses an acute attention to detail and the ability to evaluate progress and improve processes to ensure the success of this initiative.
“Moreover, the ideal candidate should be capable of leading the expansion of our HCP into Medical Assisting next year. Our new Director of Programs will play a key role in driving this expansion opportunity forward.”

Director of Finance
As our roster of training programs expands, our administrative capacity needs to expand, too. The Director of Finance will be part of our organization’s leadership team and take the lead on the finance function at all levels.
“From entering invoices into QuickBooks to tracking contract expenses to advising on strategic finance goals, the Director of Finance will work at all levels,” explained Alissa Friedman, outgoing president and CEO. “It’s a great role for somebody who likes to solve problems and have a sense of accomplishment as they help us grow as an organization.
“Every government contract we are awarded increases the workload at the finance level, too. We’re grateful to have received funding for this expanded role through Magic Cabinet.”

Case Manager/Essential Skills Instructor
This role supports the trainees of our Administrative Careers Training (ACT) program, which prepares motivated job seekers for administrative careers. The instructor will be responsible for case management, coaching and essential skills training. This person should be a clear communicator – someone who can capture a classroom and keep the lessons positive and engaging.
Natalie Georgia, ACT program manager, said the ideal candidate for this role should understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to case management.
“The issues may seem the same, but each person will require an individualized approach to resolving the challenge,” Natalie continued. “It’s important to have compassion, patience, and grace with yourself and those you are serving.”
