Code For America has created an online interface that will lead you through, step by step. Code For America is known for simplifying access to government benefits. Get started at https://www.getyourrefund.org/en
- Comfortable online but want some guidance?
Do-It-Yourself Taxes, offered by the United Way of the Bay Area, is modeled on our Opportunity Junction service! IRS certified tax assistants will join you for a session where you get help to complete your own taxes online. Sign up for a session here: https://myfreetaxes.com/form/by-myself
- Need an IRS VITA certified tax preparer to do your taxes for you?
SparkPoint Contra Costa is open to the public again, and they're doing taxes. This service is free and open to all! See their flyer for details. You can schedule an appointment or simply do a drop-off of documents, but please keep in mind that paperwork does need to be filled out during drop-off, which typically takes no more than 30 minutes. For appointments, try to have at least 1.5 to 2 hrs. set aside.
