Opportunity Junction (OJ) will celebrate the Administrative Careers Training (ACT) Class 66 graduation on Jan. 28, at 2 p.m. The ceremony will be held online and open for all to attend. Please sign up here.
Over the last 12 weeks, students in the ACT program gained a variety of skills that will help them secure employment in a variety of office support positions. As graduates, the students will enter paid internships for up to four months while OJ career counselors assist with job placement.
Instructor Natalie Georgia said that her Class 66 students diligently completed all their homework, passed every test, and most of them earned Microsoft Office Specialist certifications.
"Their courage, commitment, and resilience are inspiring," Georgia continued. "Now, as interns, they are only steps away from achieving their goal of employment. I am honored to have been a part of their success."
OJ's newest board member, Kevin Dilworth, will appear as a guest speaker at the virtual ceremony.
"I am thankful that I had the opportunity to work with such a resilient and determined class," Dilworth said of the graduating class. "It has been a very challenging time for everybody, especially for parents with young children. I'm so proud of this class for defying the odds and investing in themselves and their families during this time."
Recruitment for the ACT program occurs three times per year in January, May, and September. All alumni receive ongoing career advancement support to help ensure continued professional growth.
